2010 SEMINAR SPEAKERS BIO Kristen Peil and Caleb Whitney have owned and operated Green Side Up LLP in Northern Door County since 1998. Specializing in commercial gardens, GSU has developed a successful gardening niche by focusing on seasonal displays. Using perennial gardens as the backdrop, Kristen and Caleb extend the gardening season and heighten focal points by using a wide variety of nursery stock supplied by Fox Valley Greenhouse. Enjoy a digital display of successful gardens over the last three years and learn quick and easy ways to mimic Kristen and Caleb's success. James S. Beard, ASLA; Registered Landscape Architect; Emeritus member American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA); NOFA Accredited Organic Land Care Professional (AOLCP); Fox Valley Technical College Lead Horticulture Instructor. Roxanne Rusch has worked in various areas of the field from grower to maintenance to retail sales and garden center nursery management. She has been teaching at Fox Valley Technical College for the past seven years, specializing in the plant classes. She has also been instrumental in starting the Women’s Horticultural Association which had its kick off on October 8th 2008. David Wright is currently an instructor of Landscape Horticulture at NWTC; he previously owned & operated a wholesale perennial nursery that supplied Fox Valley Greenhouse with some of their plant materials; he has a Bachelor of Science degree in Plant & Soil Science from Southern Illinois University & 30 years experience in the greenhouse & nursery industry. Brian Schroeder has worked in diverse areas of the field from grower to advertising to retail sales and garden center manager. He is currently our buyer of perennials, roses, and Proven Winner plants, as well as the manager of Schroeder’s Flowers retail garden centers. He will talk about new plant varieties, growing and market trends that he sees in retail. Come ready to learn, smell the flowers and have fun.
